What is SkinPen?
SkinPen Precision is a handheld microneedling device that utilises Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) to treat acne scars and help improve the appearance of enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles.
How does it work?
This minimally invasive cosmetic procedure uses tiny sterile needles to create thousands of microscopic punctures in the top layer of your skin. These controlled micro-injuries trigger your body's natural healing response to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, so your skin returns to a healthier looking and more youthful appearance.
Collagen and elastin are the essential protein fibres in the skin that give it support and elasticity. As we age, those fibres break down, leading to fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, and enlarged pores. Collagen plays a key role in scars, such as those formed from acne or surgery. Regenerating collagen and elastin can help in getting a more youthful appearance overall.
How many treatments will I need to see an improvement?
For optimal results, we recommend a minimum of 3 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart. More extreme scarring, such as icepick, boxcar or rolling scars may need a total of 6 treatments.
Is this procedure suitable for me?
